wooden auger

A bit about your wonder

This auger was first used in the early 1900s, in the days when Thomas Oldham had his own workshop in Rugby.

"So you decided to make a handle for an auger to bore holes in wood, eh?"

"Superb idea - ash is strong and hard but elastic too. That means the handle won't snap when the drill gets stuck."
