Children will:
Improve their knowledge and understanding of life in Leamington in Victorian times, and of museums and archives.
Develop key/transferable skills in learning how to look at objects, using the built environment, problem solving, making deductions, teamwork and communication.
Have developed specific skills in learning to:
- recognise some features in the local area, and to locate them on a map
- find information about the area from studying pictures
- identify features of Victorian buildings
- record features of Victorian buildings
- link objects to the local history of an area
- recall information about the area in Victorian times
- that an area may contain a mixture of old and new buildings
- use maps to help describe some of the characteristic features of the past
- make deductions from physical evidence
- question pictures as interpretations of the past
- find out about the local area in the past from different written sources
