In the 18th century dolls were produced commercially in the London area. These wooden dolls are often called ‘Queen Ann’ dolls, although most were made after the end of her reign (1714). This doll dates from 1790. She is carved and painted, with enamel eyes.  Some of her clothing is original, including her quilted petticoat.  Her yellow robe is of a later date.
