William Shakespeare has this month acquired another house in Stratford - just yards from his current one at New Place.

The Chapel Lane cottage has now been vacated by former tenant Walter Getley. The


playwright is now due in court to be formally recognised as owner of the property.


But Shakespeare is set to disappoint local stargazers. As a successful playwright, and a shareholder in London's new Globe Theatre, his capital commitments may yet keep him away.
