Thomas Hornby faced the Court of Record today, battling to avoid liability for his friend's debts.

John Addenbrooke fled the area recently, with debts of £6 to William Shakespeare still outstanding.

Hornby agreed to stand bail for Addenbrooke after his initial arrest. But when the court's verdict went against him, Hornby was left to deal with the repayments.
