How did Nicholas come to live in Warwick?
It is thought that Nicholas came to Warwick under
the patronage of Sir Thomas Lucy of Charlecote. A patron recruited
Nicholas to do work for him, and encouraged, and probably helped
the person to become well known in his field of work. Once known,
a person would be asked to do work by other people.
During his lifetime he became a burgess
of Warwick. Burgesses were men who owned property over a certain
value, who lived in a borough. Often the men were in trade.
What else do we
know about Nicholas?
