You've seen the virtual versions,
now come and visit the real thing - Warwickshire
Museum looks after all of the fossils featured in the "Jurassic
Fishcake." You can visit many of them in the Geology
Gallery at the Market Hall site in Warwick. See the
website for opening hours and contact details.
Many of the fossils were found in
quarries. Quarry sites can be dangerous, and there are few still
working, but the county's Heritage Education team runs supervised
fossil hunting trips to Cross
Hands Quarry each summer. See their
website for details.
Southern Warwickshire is a real "Jurassic
Fishcake" landscape. One of the best places for fossil hunting
and viewing the landscape is Burton
Dassett Hills Country Park.
If you fancy a trip further afield,
try the Natural History
Museum in London.
