Shakespeare's life and work

Celebrated in china in 1824,
with a mug carrying a likeness
of the Poets' Corner statue.

The Shakespearian Club issued this mug,
and remains the oldest Shakespeare society still active.

They also celebrated by lobbying for Shakespeare's Birthplace to be saved for the nation in 1847.
